Is not what you got, But what you got around

Barber Nomads

Morocco

During my trip to Merzouga desert Morocco, I was glad to have the opportunity to stop by. I was glad to learn about the lifestyle of Berber nomadic people and experience their hospitality.

They live a very simple life, using black tents made of goat and camel hair that can be easily loaded onto camels for travel across the desert. Their tents are simple affairs held up by poles and do not have floors.

As we brought bread and sweets for the family, they made us the most delicious mint tea. I find it fascinating to experience such a completely different lifestyle. It makes you look at things differently. Spending time with them is a real privilege, an experience of interacting with beautiful people and landscapes unspoiled by the passage of time.
