Oma Hedwig is 92 years old and suffering from old-age dementia. While she is supported by my parents-in-law she still tries to master her life as much as she can on her own. She even does some ironing for my parents-in-law’s Bed & Breakfast. My pictures show her in everyday situations; her joy, her struggles and document her way of aging in modern situations; still trying to be independent, but sometimes also a bit isolated, sad, and lonely.
